The issue of Dr. Mossaddeq's discourse regarding the armed forces was one of his biggest challenges and conflicts with the Pahlavi government during his tenure as prime minister, which ultimately greatly affected his political destiny. Therefore, the main question of the research is: What was the approach of Dr. Mossaddeq's discourse about the armed forces? And what effect did it have on the coup of 28 August? The results of this study show that the main signifier of Dr. Mossaddeq's discourse in this regard was the control of the armed forces by civilian institutions. In this regard, he tried to implement and consolidate his discourse by taking measures such as preventing the armed forces from interfering in politics, avoiding to appoint them to higher levels of management, and settling and retiring officers. However, with the defeat in the field of action, it caused the armed forces to become the main center for his overthrow and the coup d'etat of August 28, 1943.
