Abstract:   (809 Views)
Today, historical and social typologies are mainly shaped around communications and media, and a deep understanding of this complex phenomenon requires concepts, theories, and theoretical approaches to reveal its dimensions. This article, using the analytical method and a comparative study of four media theories on nearly five hundred posts and news from the BBC and Iran International networks, raises the question of which of the two mentioned networks benefited from the 2022 events in Iran, after the death of Ms. Mahsa Amini, and to what extent? It seeks to test a hypothesis that considers the effectiveness of these two networks in utilizing a combination of four theories: framing, highlighting, meta-social, and feminist. The results obtained from this research indicate that although the issue of women and their rights was the initial and apparent reason for the formation of the "Women, Life, Freedom" movement, which can be considered a sub-theme of feminist theory and this movement can be considered a women's movement. However, by carefully examining the events of the months that followed, we can conclude that the Western-oriented media mainly utilized the framing theory in order to achieve their ultimate goal, which is to overthrow or weaken the Islamic Republic government.
