The collapse of the Iraqi Baathist regime and the increasing power of the Shiites in the Iraqi scene provided an opportunity for the Islamic Republic to use its soft and hard power capabilities to play a significant role in stabilizing the power structure and ensuring the survival and security of Iraq's territory, which has increased Tehran's status and high acceptance in the public opinion of the region, including Iraq. Therefore, the main question of the paper follows as: What impact has the Islamic Republic of Iran's intelligent diplomacy had on enhancing its status and acceptance in post-Saddam Iraq? The hypothesis is: following the collapse of the Saddam regime in Iraq and the rise of Shiites in this country, the Islamic Republic of Iran is trying to increase its acceptance in this country by using intelligent diplomacy and strengthening cultural, economic, and security relations and cooperation with Baghdad, while maintaining and strengthening the position of Shiites in the equations of Iraq, which can significantly contribute to deepening the resistance thinking in the region and the formation of power equations in favor of Tehran and its allies in the region. Qualitative analysis method has been used to analyze the research data. |
