The subject of this research is to investigate the possibility of generalizing Crane Brinton's theory on the experience of the Islamic Revolution. The problem is that a clear analysis of the escape mechanism of the Islamic Revolution from Thermidorian situations has not been presented. The main question runs as: Which theory can the escape of the Islamic revolution from the Thermidorian traps be analyzed on? In this regard, using descriptive-analytical method, the authors first explained Brinton's theory; they have enumerated the positions of Thermidori in the Islamic Revolution and examined the views of different experts in this field. Then, by referring to the political thought of Ayatollah Khamenei, they have identified and formulated the factors that explain the reasons for the inapplicability of this theory to the Islamic revolution. Reflecting on these factors shows that by relying on these propositions and expanding and completing this model, it is possible to formulate a native theory called "Revolutionary System" that explains the general movement of the Islamic Revolution.
